Course Structure

Annual examination will be conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai and Sectional (internal) examinations will be conducted by the college. There shall be an examination of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai for Diploma course in Pharmacy (First Year & Second Year). Each examination held twice every year. The first examination in a year shall be the main examination and the second examination shall be supplementary examination. As the case may be, the examinations shall be written and practical (including oral) nature, carrying maximum marks for each part of a subject.

Sessional Marks

20 marks for each theory /practical subject shall be allotted as Sessional. There shall be three periodic Sessional examinations during each academic year. The highest aggregate of any two performances shall form the basis of calculating Sessional marks.

The Sessional marks in practical shall be allotted on the following basis: Actual performance in the Sessional examination: 10 marks. Day to day assessment in the practical class: 10 marks.

Period and Practical training (Part-III)

After having appeared in Second Year examination for Diploma in Pharmacy conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai, the candidate shall be eligible to undergo practical training in the recognized institutions as follows: Hospitals/Dispensaries run by Central/State Govt./Municipal Corporation/Central Government health Scheme, Employees State Insurance Scheme, Pharmacy, Chemist and Druggist Shop licensed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act,1945. In the course of Practical training, the trainee shall have exposure to: working knowledge of keeping of records required by various Acts concerning the profession of Pharmacy and practical experience in the manipulation of pharmaceutical apparatus in common use.

The practical training shall not be less than five hundred hours spread over a period of not less than three months. Trainee should submit the day-to-day report of training in prescribe format issued by Institute after completion of training period to the principal of the institute.

Certificate of Diploma in Pharmacy

A certificate of Diploma in Pharmacy shall be granted by the examining Authority to a successful candidate on producing certificate of having passed Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I and part-II and completion of practical training Part –III as per Education Regulation Act 1991.
